Karter, lacey and i went to Lagoon this summer with my aunt and her family. it was so much fun i was not sure how karter would do but he loved it so so much.. and wanted to keep going on rides. :)

Kipp Karter and i went to the zoo one day kipp had off. it was so fun and karter loved it and did not want to leave. he Loved the train but my batteries died so i didn't get alot of pics. But it was fun to do something as a family.

Karter was a golfer this year and i must say he looked so stinking cute!! and he loved it :) Grandma Paula came down this year and we had a blast with her.. we go over to kipp aunt Deanna's and they block off the street and it is just so nice.

Oh how sad i am my baby is 3..ha had a really good birthday we did it on his bmt birthday. and did his bmt birthday in his real birthday!! lol he has been sooo in to trains so he got train cake, train cloths, trains. it was such a nice day and alot of family. Love you karter i cant belive your 3.

So this is kipp running the concrete paver..he loves it. he work like 80+ hours a week. ya i know we don't get to do much. but he likes it so i cant complain. we are lucky he has a job and they are still able to pave.. I love him so much and so thankful that he work so hard for me and karter.

I am so behind on blogging.. i am sorry. First things first Karter had his 2 year bone marrow birthday. I cant believe it has been two years. He also turned 3 yes 3.. oh my word time has flew by. i will blog on all this but just has to catch everyone up. We moved to mt.pleasant, our house is still for sale but we NEEDED to be closer to kipp. He is working up on I-15 and never stops. My poor man is working like crazy. well that kinda whats been going on but have lots of posts ahead...

My mom and i took Karter to a petting farm thing. he loved it we got there just in time for the pig race and he would just yell go,go,go. it was really cute.

I know i am sorry i have not posted in along time. We went up to pcmc for karters check up in Aug, it went so good. his numbers are where they are suppose to be, he is 100% Doner, he is growing like crazy, and nothing at all to worry about. we could not be happier its just a huge relief to know that every thing is going good. i could go up every month just here them say he is doing good.:) he is having some speech trouble so he is getting some help with that but other that that he is GREAT.. I cant believe it has almost been TWO years...wow..I love him more than i know what to do with. and don't know what i would do with out him. i want to thank my grandma and grandpa carter for putting his name in the Temple all the time and praying for him every day..we love you guys very very much. And for all the help from everyone else and all the prayers we have had to get this far.. THANK YOU!!!

While we were up there we got meet another family that is going through the same thing. it was hard to know someone else is going through what we had to. I hope she gets better and does as well as Karter. your in our prayers Jaylee.

This is Emma Karters first best friend (girl friend ). They really play so good together. and she comes to him and says wanna hug. :) But they are moving to salt lake, its going to be so different with out them there. Its really kinda sad. Sunday us and Dut and Lacey went up to the falls, we had a bbq it was so fun but windy. Karter just wanted to get close to the water(that freaked me out) When we were getting ready to leave a bunch of people came to go swimming. They had like 3 little dogs and one fell down the big waterfall that you cant see in the pic. But it was ok! :) it was nice to go some where new.
Dont mind mine and karters hair it was windy! and Karter had a nap!

I know its been forever since my last post! (sorry) well this year kipp and i went out to the sand dunes for Easter and left Karter at my dads. Well we didn't get to do Easter with him so we did it this Sunday!! :) a week later! :/ Well he loved coloring eggs and Loved to find them! :) we had a good two Easters!!!

So Last night i took karter's cloths off and asked him if he had to go potty...And he said ok..so i took him in there and he sat on his little potty and went pee!!!!! yay. I think i have been putting off all this big boy stuff! Because he might be my only baby, and i DO NOT want him to grow up!!! Kipp finally got our Golf cart running. We are not to sure how long it will go for so we don't dare go far...But it GOES!! A funny story. Kipp wanted to take it for a night ride Sunday night. So me and karter get a blanket and get on with kipp, we go down the road and over by the pool, and hit a bump and it STOPS!! But kipp got it going. Karter just loves it! :) thanks DAD LOVE YA!!!

This is kinda old but i was waiting to get the pics from tiff. So Kipps brother (Jake) and tiff are like HUGE byu fans, and have season tickets But Jake had to work one day and tiff asked me if i wanted to go. So we went and had a great time! by the end of the game tiff was lifting my arm helping me with the cheers, it was so much fun, thanks tiff for taking me. It was SOOO FUN!!!

Well i have been so bad at updating my blog, But we have done some fun stuff i just forgot my camera. We went out to this farm and did a corn maze and karter got to see all the farm animals. And he loved it!! The hat he has on is so funny and he wears it all the time! He also got a new hair cut that's so cute. We took him to the DR here in st.George, and he has some bronchitis. This last weekend me and karter went up to his Dr app Friday. And they said he is doing AWESOME...just keep doing what we are doing:) He had so loose poop. to put it nice, his poor bum was bleeding, so we would put him in the tub or sink to wash it off. And he loved it

well it has been one year since Karter was life flighted and our journey began. i posted just a few pics if kinda what went on but its not even close to all of it. It makes me sick to think of all that he has had to go through. But he is here and doing good we could not ask for more.

Yes more pictures. Well i just want to show off my little boy. It has been a really crazy year for him, but you would not know it when you see him. He is so happy and full of life, he has came such a long way. And i am so proud of him, he has such a amazing spirit. And brings joy to my life every time i look at him. So it has almost been a year since he was life flighted, and i really cant believe it. I cant believe we really went through that. But we did and i want to show all of you are amazing love for one another. And most of all our love for our little miracle boy. I love you karter more than you will ever know.

Well as you can see Karter does not have a line any where!! well it was not planed at least not through the DR's. Well Karter had a different plan. On our way back home yesterday i looked back at him and he pulled it out. I don't know how he did it, And didn't even cry or anything. So i called the docs, and they said he was just speeding up the plan. And we can leave it out. And see how his labs look in two weeks. So its kinda exciting he can take a normal bath, and maybe swimming. :) He is happy to have it out.

That little white tube was all the way out, When it was in his arm it went up by his heart. Then i had to cut the stitches.

so the other night we made some mutton chops. It was our first time making them so i had to call my dad. but they turned out so good. And whata ya know Karter loved it. I could not keep up with him. So then i gave him the bone ( i know i am crazy but they really are good to suck on for a little bit). But he loved it. Then i gave him some nutter butters and he just would eat the penut butter. so i got him a spoon full of penut butter and he loved it.i guess he really is like me. thats all i would eat when i was little.

PCMC and July 4th

Well last week on sat Karter got a fever at 11:30 so we had to rush up to pcmc. And the next day they found he had perainfluenza type 3. Just a virus, he had a fever of 103 for 2 days and then just got over it. He fell asleep with the filter in is mouth it was kinda cute. But he is doing much better now :)

We had a great 4th of july. We went to the parade (we pulled up to the road and sat in the jeep). Karter loved it, then we went to the park to get some grub ( karter and kipp sat in the jeep). then we headed up to go fishing at electric lake. Karter loves water so we had a good time. i didn't have my camera but we came home Sunday and did some fire works and karter loved the sparklers......

So kipp and i have been married for a year today!!! We have had a really long year, but we have grown so close. ANd i dont know what i would do with out him.

Another Hospital trip!

SO Karter and i went up to my dads on wed. We had a Dr app Thursday. well wed night around 12 am he got a fever. So we rushed up to salt lake. we got there about 3 am. They took some blood out of his line. and you have to wait 24 hrs to see if anything grows. Well he had staff infection. it never really went away the first time. so they scheduled to take out his line the next day. So they came and got him for surgery. And they just cut it out. The hole that's left in his chest is sick and they told me he would not need anything on it. But i put a band aid on it because its kinda deep. Anyways we had to wait for the infection to clear out of his blood. and wait for pick line on Monday. They were not even sure if they could get him in or what time. so he could not eat or drink. Not to fun with a 18 months old who is on meds to get him to eat. well they came about noon. and did it in his room. they gave him some versted. a sedation drug, and he started laughing so hard. it was so funny. he does not like the pick very much and i think it is sore. they tryed once and could not get it. We really like his central line. but we are home now and he is doing better.

So me and kipp got to go to lake Powell with our Great friends Bobby and Amber. We had so much fun. But the Weather sucked. it rained and the wind was blowing just about the whole time. But we still had fun with no kids. Karter did so good He had a hard time sleeping but other than that did good. Sorry i don't have pics i took a disposable camera Because i did not want to loose mine. Thanks Bobby and Amber For taking us on The (Bob on in) Ha ha.

One Night

So kipp got a ride up to salt lake on Friday night while Karter was in the hospital. And Sarah came up to stay with Karter. kipp and i got to have a night to our self's, We went to dinner at olive garden. And got a motel room at the Radisson. And it was so nice, You could see the temple and the state Capitol. It was so awesome we were on the 15th floor. kipp wanted to thank my parents for not really taking me to hotels Because i got excited like a little girl :) We had a nice night :) thanks babe love you.
We had a huge bed that was so soft. And a down comforter and soft pillows AWSOME!!!

Back In the Hospital..

Well we are back Sunday night Karter woke up acting like he was really cold. But he didn't Have a fever. So i gave him some pain meds thinking he was in pain. So he went back to sleep. Then when i woke up at ten and Karter was still sound asleep. And just didn't want to wake up, so i called pcmc and they wanted labs drawn and to head up Monday. Well A hour or so later he got a fever. So they wanted to make sure he was stable to drive up. So we came up and the next morning they found he has a bacterial infection. So i hope we will get to go soon.

My Birthday!

It was my Birthday Monday, And had so much fun. Sunday Kipps family had dinner and made me my first Quarnberg famous red velvet cake. And then Monday meet up with my mom, john & my grandma and grandpa Simon. And got SEVEN new shirts And FOUR new Capri's and shorts. After shopping we got to take karter in to Red Robin. Because there was like 3 people in there. Came home and amber sent me some flowers that i love so much.... Thanks amber :) And then kipp came home with yellow roses, that i love they are beautiful... Thanks everyone who txt me:) OH ya and had a awsome ice cream cake.

Ok i finally have the Internet, Thanks to my grandma and grandpa Carter. Thanks you two i love you guys. Your the best :) This is Katers 2nd Easter. And he loved it. We gave him a egg and some water. And grandpa Kendall helped him and by the time those two were done the water was yellow and there was not really a egg left. And he woke up and had some eggs to find, And would just got hit them with his flute. But we had so much fun at home:)

Ok well we got out of the hospital on Thursday and went to my dads and spent the weekend. And went home Sunday, Had a good week at home. Came back up to pcmc on Friday for a check up and he was getting some more tummy problems but they let us go. we went to lost creek Saturday and headed back up to pcmc at 1 in the morn with a fever. we are still here. he is doing good no more fevers they just wanted to keep us 48 hours. the Dr today said they have had kids come in with this and almost die. Yea that's a nice filling but We are very careful so i try not to worried. Sorry its so short and no pics but Karter is really a unhappy camper so cant leave for to long. I hope i will get to post some pics soon.

long weeks

Ok so sorry it has been so long for a post, but we got to go home home. For a week and i do not have the Internet yet so i could not post anything. But we came up last Friday for a check up and they found out that Karter has Pneumatosis. And that is where you have air in between your intestines so thats no good. so we are back in the hospital for awhile. He will not be able to eat for 1 to 2 months it is so sad.and right now he can not drink anything. He is on tpn that has all he will need. So that's my short post, i don't know when you will here from me but wish My little guy luck. he needs it.

GOOD & BAD

DAY 95 today:) So all Karter will eat is CHEETOS and i am not kidding........ so last week the docs were talking about a feeding tube. And i guess the CHEETOS just were not cutting on GOOD nutrition. (who knew). well you can see the results of just eating CHEETOS. A FEEDING TUBE :( He was so sad, i fill so bad for the little man. But the good news we got to see JILL & EMILY:) they are so cute and fun. By the way Emily is doing good. and we hope all keep looking up for you em.....Karter lover his card:)..............Ok so GOOD GOOD news we get to go home after Tuesday. I CANT WAIT Like OMG I cant WAIT...........................

ok so i got told i need to tell everyone how karter is doing. :) Sorry i have not been to good at that, i just live in the moment and sometimes i don't want to go back. But ill give you all a little bit of a update......tomorrow Karter is at day 90. Can you believe it, it has gone really fast. So we went in to clinic yesterday and karter is not eating very good. He has lost some weight, They were talking about putting in a feeding tube. But i asked about a drug that Emily took to make her have a appetite. So if he does not start eating better that's what we are going to try. Other than the eating this he is going awesome. They don't know if we get to go home around the 100 days, They are worried we live so far away. I called Karters DR in st.George and asked if he would be willing to take karter on and talk to the Dr's up here, but i have not got a call back:) But i just called today .Karter is getting more and more active every day, I can tell he is getting back to his old self. And it is wonderful i love to here his little voice it is so sweet.... He still is not walking, but he is picking up where he left off, Like pulling him self up on the couch and other stuff. Anyways that's all really other than a million other things most of you would not understand other than jill:) But thanks to all of you who are still praying and thinking about us.

And a little update on Karter, He is doing SUPER. We now get to go to the Dr every week not twice a week Because his platelets are coming in on there own. And he is getting hairy, But still a CUTE little stinker.....

Thank you sooooooooo much SALINA ELEMENTARY!! Kipp Karter and I are so thankful for this, we don't know how we could ever repay all of you.
for all of you who don't know about this Kipps mom (Paula that we love so much i could not ask for better mother in law. love you Paula) is the Secretary at salina elementary. And they gave this to her the other day at school, She did not know they had it in the library. there was a book that all the staff signed, and jug of money that the students and staff put in Money. It is so awesome We want to give you all a big thank you !! We hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

we finally got to take Karter home. He did not like his car seat at all. He still does not know what to do. But its so nice to be home!!!! ( we are not able to go home home for awhile)

K so Jill called me today and asked whats going on. I have not been good at updating SORRY. So we were hoping that we are getting out FRIDAY!!! But ( yes always a BUT. ) He has been kinda grumpy so i was looking in his mouth and it looked like there was sores. I had Hillary come in and she said there are sores all over, I have had a canker, so i might of gave him them :( I fill so bad. So i hope we still get to go. We are going CRAZY here. But here are some pics i have.

So i have not been really good at updating, I have been thinking and wishing that we were getting out soon. So this is whats gone on. We got out of the picu on Thursday, He was doing good he got to get out of his room. He loved it he just points at his mask to go out. Its kinda good he knows that he has to have it on to go out, He will be wearing it ALOT!!

He was driving with his foot!!

On Sunday he started being really upset all the time. And each day just got worse, So on Wednesday they sent us back down to the picu. Now they are trying a new antibiotic to see if that helps. If not the will have to do a biopsy in his throat, And he will have to be intubated & paralyzed. So we really don't want that.

Karters Update!

Well we are still here in the PICU. He was doing ok but not better, They were going to send us back up to the 4th floor (that we love). But me and kipp kinda didn't fill like he was doing any better. So we made the doc's come back and they agreed that he was not doing good. They don't think he is getting worse but not better. So we will see what happens they say maybe 1 or 2 more days. He just wants to be held the whole time. Me and him slept in one of those pull out chairs all night, He loved it Me not so much But i do love to snuggle with him. I will up some pics when i get more time. And some good news his counts went up to 800. So now he is officially ingrafted,Last time he was just messing with us. So that means his transplant is working :) Thanks for all of you thinking and praying for us.

Karter is in ICU

Karter is not doing to good, he started not breathing very good 3 days ago. Yesterday he woke up and was barley breathing. They took him to picu so they can watch him better. Right now we are just trying breathing treatments. If he does not get better they are going to put in a breathing tube. But right now he is doing ok a lot better then yesterday.But his counts went up to 300 so that's good.

I just wanted to let everyone know how much i love my family's , And my little boy. Everyone has been so helpful in this ruff time in our life, I really don't know what i would do with out them. every time someone calls they ask "can i do anything" But the answer is all ways no. I wish someone could help But that's in heavenly fathers hands, and so far he has gave us little blessing that are hard to find. Even though everyday is a blessing to have him, there are also little ones everyday. Like They have said that most skid kid's that's come in have had many infections and virus.Karter has had ONE, So they keep trying to find some but none yet thankfully. Karter really is a little fighter, the things he is going through i would not be able to handle if i had to do it. I love this little boy so much there are not words... And my husband has been awesome for traveling back and forth to work and back up here. he has came up every weekend we have been here. that's a very long drive after a long week of work. I love him so much and thankful that i have him to help. And Sarah has came up every week to help me out and give me a break, and let me try to get some real sleep. I really don't know how i would do this alone.But i wanted to let all of you know I LOVE YOU!! and thanks for the help and prayers. And have a safe and happy thanksgiving

This Is Emily "Heaps Of fun" She also has scids. I love there little family so much they are so sweet. Emily is on her 100 day mark, But she had to get a feeding tube, and her counts have gone down. I hope every thing turns out OK for them.

Well Karter was doing awesome till last night. we could just tell he was not filling very good. Kipp and i went to eat while his parents were here. And they said he got sick and then felt better. But when he woke up today he had a fever, and his counts went down to 200. they say that's normal, and that ingrafting can be really painful. His little nose is so stuffed he cant breath, its so sad to see him in pain. But just keep praying and i know he will do better.

Ok everyone Karters (anc) have to be at 500 for two days to go home. Well the white blood cells have to go up first. well they started to go up Tuesday. And to day they are at 300. And his ANC is at 200. They are so surprised usually it takes longer for a cored to start ingrafting Like three more weeks. We are so happy i cant even tell you. As tiff puts it "i got tingles in my stomach". They said that we might get to go the apartment before thanksgiving. I cant believe it. Oh did i mention i am so dang happy i cant stand it..............

So this is what Karter is starting to look like. They call it the moon face, that it is for sure. It will go away when he is done, but he will also get really hairy to. So we just take one day at a time. And just accept anything the toss at us.

Losing The hair :(

The other day kipp ran his hand through Karters hair and this is what happen. I thought he pulled it out, But karter just keep playing. We knew this day was coming but really didn't want it to. It was really sad for me to see his hair just come out. kipp was excited Because he love to cut Karters hair.So We had to cut it off, We bicked it so the fuzz didn't fall out and make him itchy.

Karter didn't mind as you can tell, just as long as the Bee movie is on.

It was kinda scary cutting his hair with a razor, It felt so crazy

Kipp Cut his hair with Karter but didn't dare cut it like Karters.

I love these boys so much. i Don't know what i would do with out them.

This was such a BIG DAY for us, It was so crazy how they do the transplant. They just put it in his line and that's it, so they try to make it a big deal because it really is. And karter was sleeping most of the time. We are so thankful for who ever donated there cored and saved Karters life!

Karter's first Halloween was in the hospital, as you can tell he is a monkey. But he really is a monkey with his feet. He did not like to wear it very much so we did not put it on him on Halloween cause he was not filling to good he started chemo that day. But he looked so dang cute

second trip to the hospital

Well this is after the second trip it was kinda unsuspected. Karter was not acting himself
So we took him to the clinic and they did a hemoglobin test and it was only 4 so she called his doctor ,and his doctor told us to go the the hospital where he was at and they wanted to admit him. Come to find out he was not making blood he had 30% of normal. His bone marrow had shut down from the pneumonia. So right away the were trying to find a vane to get the iv started. They try ed 4 different times. And finally got one. They needed 9 ml of blood and could not get it. so they poked him some more, and still not able to get it all. That night about one in the morning they gave him 100 cc for blood. We had to wait for more test and he was up to a 10 ( 10.5 to 15.5 is normal) but they let us go home. We have to go back Thursday and Friday for more test. poor little guy

Well this is the first trip to the hospital.
we took Karter in and they said he had a cold?
But he just got worse, Took him back again and they said he had phenomena.
Gave him some shots and sent us home. well he was not getting better So they put him the hospital for 6 days. And got all better.

Yes we were trying to make the best of things :)

We decided to take Karter to sand hollow for a little bit to see what the thought. The water was kinda cold at first, but ME and KARTER got use to it. Kipp was to chicken to get in.

Karter didn't know what to think of the sand all the water.

After about 30 minutes the boys were ready to go home, But it was so fun.
